Innovation Fund

The Foundation works with recognised theological education institutions, as well as Dioceses and Provinces within the Anglican Communion, to stimulate innovation in learning and teaching. These grants range from £1,000 to a maximum of £15,000 in any one year or up to £25,000 over two years.

Successful applications have sought funding for Diocesan-wide initiatives in:

  • continuing ministerial development, eg refresher courses for clergy

  • grants for a small cohort of ordinands from a particular Diocese or Province to undertake their training together,

  • enhancing library or IT provision in theological education institutions in the Majority World

  • translating theological resources

  • support towards a conference to explore new approaches to theological training

We are keen to work with other funding bodies including mission agencies and companion link dioceses in order to maximise effectiveness of these grants.

Applications will only be considered from Anglican and Ecumenical theological institutions that are officially recognised by an Anglican province.

Priority areas for this fund are:

  • People under-represented in theological education (eg women and those in non-english speaking areas of the Communion)

  • Staff development (Creative opportunities for staff development are welcomed)

  • Partnerships with other bodies and agencies

  • Grants leading to the theological education of others

  • Training of a local cohort of ordinands
